Good for you! You took our advice from Social Media Don’t #1: Never Post, and finally started using your social media accounts! And WOW, are you using it. Honestly, I sometimes wonder if all you do is sit at your computer sharing inspirational quotes and tweeting about the weather/your specials/your dog, Baxter. In fact, I think I know more about what’s going on in your business than in my own life…
Now don’t get us wrong, we are very proud of you for finally joining these tubes we call Internet. Being active online is still a great way to interact and engage with your loyal customers in between their visits.
BUT, there is a line…
We didn’t quite know how to tell you this, so we’ve called in reinforcements. Take it away, Will –
Phew! Now that that’s out of the way. Let’s talk about what you can do to stop annoying your followers and fans.
- Have a Plan – Make a simple schedule for yourself. This can be as elaborate as creating themes and topics for each week/month, or as simple as posting about offers on Thursday, causes you support once a month or loyalty contests on the 1st of each month.
- Quality over Quantity – Sharing a statement about your passion for organic produce once will undoubtedly have a more positive impression than posting 15x about the same pasta special. In the long run, the credibility of your page will strengthen because of it.
“But…but…I have so many emotions and things to tell the world about!”, you may say. Well, that’s what personal accounts are for, honey.
So there you have it! Just a couple easy ways to get your voice heard without making customers cover their ears. Stay tuned for more Social Media Don’ts here :)
